Are You Voting Out Of Fear?

trump-vs-clintonThe 2016 election is proving to be one for the ages.  We have basically been handed 2 of the worst candidates in history, and the 2 major parties could not be happier about it!  Yes, you heard me right.  Why?  It is because each party can focus their attention on pointing out countless flaws about the opposing candidate.  They can bash them all day, and they don’t even need to make things up.  The only reason that their candidate looks at all enticing is because the opposing party looks so bad.

People are scared, and people do stupid things when they are scared.  Don’t believe me?  Take a few minutes to read this article, and feel free to leave your feedback at the bottom.

Why Vote for Hillary Clinton?

I’ve asked countless Hillary supporters, “Why are you voting for her?”  The answer is 99% of the time, “Because she isn’t Trump,” or some variation of that (with the occasional “We need a woman president).  If I ask what policy of hers makes them want to vote for her, I get a confused look.  They can’t tell me one thing positive about her.  Where does she stand on anything?  It’s impossible to know because she changes her story so much.  hillary-clinton-lying

Why Vote For Donald Trump?

The same goes for Trump.  Ask a Trump supporter why they are voting for him, and you get one of 2 answers.

  1. He isn’t Clinton!
  2. He is going to make America great again!

I follow the second response with, “How?” and usually get those same confused looks I get from Clinton supporters.  Trump has made big claims, but can’t give any real information about how he will realistically accomplish anything.

So, if both candidates don’t really have a lot to offer (other than a lot of talk with little to back it), why aren’t more people voting 3rd party?  The answer is simple.  THEY ARE SCARED!  People who see Clinton for what she really is are terrified she will win, and feel they NEED to vote for Trump in order to keep Clinton from winning.  People who see Trump for what he really is are terrified he will win, so that NEED to vote for Clinton.

THAT IS NOT WHAT AMERICA IS ABOUT!

While I have my doubt that our votes will actually mean anything due to political corruption and what is already showing to be a rigged election, my vote is for who I want to win because I believe in them!  I am not voting defensively to keep someone else out of office.  I am voting to show my support to a candidate that I believe in.

Personally, I am voting for Gary Johnson.  Why?  Don’t get me wrong, the fact that he is not Trump or Clinton is a HUGE pro.  However, he is the only candidate that wants to limit the power of the government, which we are in desperate need of doing.  He is also the only candidate that wants to bring home our troops.  Clinton and Trump want more war.  Why?  More war = more money for the rich.  Johnson understands that our country not only can’t afford more war, but it makes no sense.  We are not accomplishing anything, and the problems are just getting worse.  That is why Johnson is the top polling candidate among active military.  We need to focus on The United States for once, and fix our country before we go trying to fix other countries (which always comes with a catch).

2016-presidential-candidatesWhile I don’t agree with Johnson on everything, I believe he is the best choice that we have for this country!  If you believe in Trump, power to you, vote for him!  If you believe in Clinton, power to you, vote for her!  But if you are voting out of fear, you are missing the point of democracy!

Have an awesome day!

Joe Malone

OK, you are probably wondering who this Joe Malone guy is and why you should care what he thinks. Well, I'm a husband, father, teacher, entrepreneur, and mildly entertaining guy who is simply sick of watching this country go down the drain.

  1. Great article. I love the concise listing of candidates and issues.

  2. Good summary! I’m in! Went looking for an alternative after watching the two conventions. Love http://www.johnsonweld.com!
