Capitalism vs Socialism – Greed is the Difference

What is more greedy, wanting to keep what you have or wanting to take what someone else has?

I know it seems hard to believe, considering socialism has destroyed numerous once thriving countries, but many people in the United States seem to be moving towards the desire for socialism.  On the flip side, many people believe that capitalism, the system that made the United States the county that people flee socialist countries to come to, is the way to go. These 2 systems are very different.  Let’s take a quick look at them.

Socialism – The government is in charge of wealth distribution.  Citizens are taxed heavily, and their money is disbursed where the government thinks it should go (like taxes, but at a much higher level).  The government may also take control of production.  There is little motivation to thrive, because the government will simply redistribute your wealth.

Capitalism – You are in charge of your situation.  Every individual has the opportunity to work, and you are rewarded for what you do.  You have motivation to work hard, build new businesses, and create new products.  You are taxed, but not at the rates required for socialism.

What is the big difference between these two things?  GREED!  Now, if you ask a socialist who is greedy, they will say the capitalist.  Who cares if that person worked hard their entire life to achieve that wealth?  If they keep it, they are greedy, right?  I ask you again.  What is more greedy, wanting to keep what you have or wanting to take what someone else has?

While not everyone on the left will say that they believe in socialism, they are pushing a socialist-like agenda.  They claim that they just want to help people.  FREE HEALTHCARE, FREE COLLEGE, FREE EVERYTHING! These things are all about GREED!

Free healthcare, really?  That is great that the hospitals are not charging to use their location, and that the doctors, nurses, custodians, administrations, and everyone else are working for free!  Wait, they aren’t?  Then how is that free?  Oh, you just want other people to pay your medical bills.  GREED!

Free college, really?  That is great that the university is letting you use their space at no cost.  Those are some great teachers, administrators, custodians, secretaries, and more to volunteer their services!  Wait, they are still getting paid?  How is that free?  Oh, right……you want someone else to pay for your college.  GREED!

But……but…….but……the rich need to pay their fair share!  Do some research, THEY DO!.  The top income bracket pays 37% in taxes!  Not only is that the highest rate of any income group, but they are paying it on the most money.  The rich are paying their fair share…………. and then some.  The rich are pretty much paying to run this country, while most low income earners pay very little in taxes, especially with Trump’s new tax plan, which doubled the standard deduction, lowered the tax rate, and doubled the child care credit.

Would Jesus have been a socialist?

I honestly don’t know where the confusion is on this one.  Yes, Jesus said to feed the hungry.  When did he say to do it by force? If you really think that Jesus would be a socialist, you really need to read the Bible.  Jesus had multiple encounters with wealthy people who then gave large amounts of money to the poor.  Show me the verse where he forced them to do it!  You won’t be able to, because Jesus was in no way a socialist.

Aren’t capitalists greedy for keeping so much money?

It is no secret that there are very wealthy individuals in this country.  Do a lot of them buy things that we may think are insane?  Absolutely.  A great example would be Bernie Sanders owning 3 houses.  However, if you have earned the money, isn’t that your right?  Isn’t it your money?  The truth is that most of the richest people in the US give insane amounts of money to charity, far more than most of us will ever make in our lifetime.  The reason that they are able to do that is capitalism.  Them having that money does not in any way stop someone else from going out and earning their own money.  We live in a country of opportunity.  White the left is busy bashing America, people are fleeing countries around the world to come here because they want the chances that we have.  Guess what, many of them are fleeing socialist countries!

OK, I am starting to rant now.  For the 3rd time, I am going to hit you with, and leave you with this question.

What is more greedy, wanting to keep what you have or wanting to take what someone else has?

Joe Malone

OK, you are probably wondering who this Joe Malone guy is and why you should care what he thinks. Well, I'm a husband, father, teacher, entrepreneur, and mildly entertaining guy who is simply sick of watching this country go down the drain.
