President Joe Biden has stated his firm belief that gun manufacturers be held responsible when one of their guns are used in a murder. In order to not single out gun manufacturers, any company who’s product is used to cause harm to someone can now be sued by the victim and/or their family. This policy has resulted in a plethora of lawsuits against companies who had nothing to do with the crimes other than creating a product. Let’s look at some examples.
In 2020, 1739 murders were committed with knives and other cutting instruments. Now, knife makers, from Victorinox to Rachael Ray are being sued because their knives were used in the crimes. While the defendants have stated the obvious, that they did not commit a crime, they simply created a legal product that someone decided to use in an illegal way, things are not looking good for them. CutCo may be on the verge of going bankrupt from the lawsuits. Additionally, the distributors responsible for selling the knives may be facing accessory to murder charges. Cutco distributor Nick Papageorgio made the following statement. “I started selling Cutco knives door to door to help pay for my sick parents medical bills. One of the many people I sold to ended up using one of the knives they bought from me to commit murder. I had nothing do with the crime, but now I am facing a lawsuit that will bankrupt me. What is wrong with this country?” Democrats have responded to Mr. Papageorgio stating, “The murder committed by the knife that he sold was used against a minority. Due to this fact, Mr. Papageorgio obviously has ties to far-right white supremacists, and more than likely received his instructions to sell the knife used in this crime directly from President Trump.”
Care manufacturers are at risk of being wiped out after over 42,000 vehicle related deaths in 2021. With tens of thousands of lawsuits from last years’ accidents alone, care manufacturers are in big trouble. Additionally, the following may be facing criminal charges and lawsuits due to their contributions to the deaths; Car dealerships, mechanics, and gas stations. In a surprising twist, employees at the Department of Motor Vehicles are now able to be sued if they played any role in putting the vehicle, or the person driving the vehicle in the accident on the road. The DMV itself is protected against lawsuits because allowing it to be sued would negatively impact the government. A spokesperson for the Whitehouse stated, “We need to hold car manufacturers accountable for creating these machines of death. People do not need a car. They can get from point A to point B on bike or by walking.” After making the statement, the spokesperson immediately got into their car and drove away.
Democrats have stated that holding the manufacturers responsible is only the first step. Every retailer, employee who stocked the item, company that delivered the product (minus the USPS, who is exempt from lawsuits), and even the cashiers who rang the items up will be held accountable for their undeniable roles in the crimes committed by other people.
In an all-out assault against drunk driving, the following will be held accountable when an individual drives drunk. The car manufacturer, the company who made the alcohol consumer by the driver, the delivery driver that delivered the alcohol to the bar, the bartender, and the company that insured the driver.
Why did I write this satire article? It is simple. Joe Biden has stated that gun manufacturers should be held responsible when a gun that they make is used in a crime, especially if it is a “weapon of war,” which refers to semi-automatic rifles. Not only are there are literally millions of these guns in the US, but they are also used far less than hand guns to commit crimes. 99.9% of the people who own these guns are law abiding citizens. Ignoring these facts, democrats want them banned. Well, not completely. They want them banned for private citizens, but not the people that protect the politicians. Why do they deserve better protection than you or me? The answer is simple. They don’t!
