I have voted in 3 presidential elections. 2 of those votes went to democrats, Obama specifically. My 3rd vote went to a third party candidate. I did not feel that Trump or Clinton best represented this country, and neither one earned my vote. Why did I jump ship? Why did I finally say, “Enough is enough,” and end my democratic voting streak. Here are the top 5 reasons.
- Abortion – Democrats can tell themselves whatever they want to make themselves sleep at night, but they are supporting the killing of babies. Part of Clinton’s campaign was talking about how she is for late term abortions. The fact that we even need to have discussions about whether or not abortion is OK is mind blowing to me. People said that they voted for Clinton because Trump said inappropriate things about women. But you voted for Clinton even though she wants to let you kill babies until they are born? I think some people need to rethink their priorities.
- Racism – I won’t go down the road of how the democrats were the ones for slavery and the ones that started the KKK. Let’s look at the more modern Democratic Party. First, let’s talk about Obama (and remember, I voted for him…..twice). During his presidency, he mentioned on several occasions that people who did not agree with him on issues based their decisions on the fact that he was black. Did you ever think maybe it was because you had some pretty stupid ideas? Towards the end of his presidency, when he was busy devoting all of his time to helping Clinton get elected, instead of, you know, doing his job, Obama talked about how blacks owed him, so they should vote for Clinton. Now they are bust trying to convince everyone that Trump is racist for doing the exact same things that Obama did. It’s funny how Trump was never called a racist until he ran against the democrats. In fact, he was known for helping black communities, so much so that the Rev. Jesse Jackson praised him for it……you know….until he ran against the democrats. Now they are going even a step further, trying to convince us not only that Trump is a racist, but that anyone who supports him must be too.
- Sexism – Anybody hear Clinton talking about how women need to vote for her…….because she is a woman??? Sexist much? She even said that women who didn’t vote for her voted for Trump because their husbands made them. Are you serious? Is she really saying that women are that weak that their husbands get to tell them who to vote for? Next you had Michelle Obama saying that women who didn’t vote for Clinton were not letting their voice be heard. Hey Michelle, voting is how they made their voice heard! You just didn’t like what they had to say.
- The Second Amendment – I was born and raised in New York. I was essentially brought up with the understanding that people can’t just carry guns around, at least not legally. About 6 years ago I moved to Virginia. Open carry, $50 for your conceal carry permit, and they love the second amendment. I was going up to NY to visit family, and decided to look up the laws there to be safe, making sure I wouldn’t get myself in trouble. I can’t even have my gun unloaded and locked up in my car. If I enter NY with the gun, I am a criminal, since I do not hold a valid NY license. I’m really hoping Trump comes through on reciprocity, but he is fighting the entire Democratic Party, who have made it clear that their goal is to fight him on everything, no matter how many people it hurts.
- Hypocrisy – The Democratic Party is the biggest bunch of hypocrites I have ever seen. You have Pelosi, who praised Obama for saving the middle class $40, but criticized Trump for saving them thousands, saying it is crumbs and an insult. You have Schumer, who said during Obama’s presidency that allowing a government shutdown to happen to get your way is irresponsible, just to do exactly that while Trump is president. It’s almost like he is trying to make the president look bad, but no politician that is supposed to be serving the people would put his agenda before that of the people…..right? I mean, shutting down the government because you are not getting your way on something that is unrelated to the funding bill, that would be childish, immature, and irresponsible.
- Voter ID Laws – Democrats consistently argue against requiring identification to vote. What possible reason could they give for that? They say it is hard for black people to get an ID, and it would be unfair because they wouldn’t be able to vote. Are they really that racist that they don’t think a black person can handle getting an ID? Or is it that they wouldn’t be able to rig elections as easily?
- Taxes – Democrats have this mindset that they know how to spend my money better than I do. They tax, tax, and tax some more. The founding fathers would have lost their minds if they saw what this country has become in terms of taxation. ZERO democrats voted for Trump’s tax plan, which gave tax cuts to over 80% of Americans, and virtually the entire middle class. NONE!
- Healthcare – Would it be nice if everyone had healthcare, absolutely! Is it a right, NO! You do not have the right to another person’s service. I may $394 every 2 weeks for my family to have insurance. I should not also be paying for someone else to get it, especially when I still have deductibles and co-pays, and they pay nothing. Yes, there are real situations where people need help, and I fully believe in helping them. That does not mean that the government should be running health care! They have no business doing that, as we have all seen by how wonderfully the VA operates.
- Socialism – The Democratic Party is becoming more and more socialist with each election. IT DOESN’T WORK! No, neither does democratic socialism!
- Media Manipulation – There was one thing that Obama did far better than any other president I have seen. He controlled the media. Do you believe there are people that have this thought that Obama didn’t have any scandals? He actually had a a lot, and some were very bad. Why doesn’t everyone talk about them? Because the media didn’t. They portrayed him as a never-do-wrong kind of guy. The Democratic Party has their claws so deep into the media that it is hard to take them seriously. Sadly, some people still do, regardless how many times the media is proven wrong. Controlling the media is a trick that has been used by some very bad people throughout history. It never leads to anything good.
BONUS: I know I said 10 things, but I just remembered one more worth mentioning. They not only screwed Bernie Sanders out of the party nomination, but then justified it by saying that they are a corporation, and don’t need to follow their own rules. Basically, it’s great that the people voted for Bernie in the primary election, but the party didn’t care. They picked Clinton anyway.
Let me make something clear. Saying that I will not vote democrat does not mean that I will vote republican. The more I learn about politics and the government, the more libertarian I become. I fully believe that the government is too big, and that we are moving in a horrible direction. I did not vote for Trump, but I think he is getting some things right, such as shrinking some departments, and of course, tax cuts on the middle class. I have no idea who I will end up voting for in the next election, but I can tell you this. It will NOT be anybody representing the Democratic Party.
Have a nice day!
